Dying in the 21st century – what choices do we have?

Peter Saul is a strong global voice on managing death and the dying in our modern society. A talk from ETIK2018.

Synopsis

Peter Saul is widely recognised for his work on end of life care planning in the modern age. He has talked across the globe on the difficulties we face in managing death and the dying in our modern culture.

We were very fortunate to have him come to Denmark for the biannual medical ethics symposium in 2018 to talk on this very topic.

Bio

Peter Saul is a senior specialist in intensive care at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, and Director of Intensive Care at Newcastle Private Hospital. He is a founder of the Clinical Unit in Ethics and Health Law at the University of Newcastle, and advises the NSW Ministry of Health through the Clinical Ethics Advisory Panel. He has an interest in end of life, and has been involved in writing all the current NSW guidelines on end of life care and advance care planning.
